Relief Project Workers

Mental Health Aberdeen is a voluntary organisation providing a range of services to support people who have experienced mental ill health.  We are currently looking for workers to join our relief pool, which provides cover for our Residential, Housing Support and Day Support projects.

Social Inclusion Worker: The Arches, Banff

The Arches is a community day resource providing support and activities to people affected by mental health problems, aiding in their recovery process and helping to overcome social isolation.

We are looking to appoint a Social Inclusion Worker.

  • £16,932 - £17,820; SCP Points 18-20
  • 36.25 hours per week (job share considered)

The post holder, together with The Arches Team, will co-ordinate and facilitate activities at the project and in the community and provide one-to-one support and group outreach support, four days in Banff and surrounding area and one day in Fraserburgh and surrounding area.

Good knowledge of mental health issues and a clear understanding of the difficulties faced by people with mental health problems are required, as well as experience of work in a community setting and clear understanding of issues of confidentiality and boundaries.

SVQ level 3 in Social Care or equivalent or willingness to undertake training towards obtaining this qualification is essential.

Also essential for this post are good all round communication skills, with ability to form good relationships with the users of our service and to connect with people on all levels; an ability to work on your own as well as to use own initiative within the confines of team working and organisational skills and the ability to plan out and schedule workload and activities in advance.

The Social Inclusion Worker is expected to be self-motivating and able to motivate others and must have an ability to work innovatively and creatively with people.

The post holder must hold a valid driving licence and be a car owner, or have access to a car.
